FIGHT UPDATE: Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez via TKO in 2nd round!
The Alvarez vs. McGregor is the first UFC event hosted in New York City. It is also the first UFC event hosted in the State of New York after the longtime professional MMA ban was revoked in early 2016. To this point, UFC 7 was the only event contested in the state, taking place in September 1995 at Buffalo. Why are your thoughts about the fight?
Alvarez also said it felt "great to step into Madison Square Garden".
"It’s a big venue. It’s a legendary venue. I really wanted to put on a show for my fans and I’m very disappointed that I didn’t get the win. I know that Jim Miller is a game opponent and that he would be a tough test for me. He did everything he was supposed to and it was really me who did not get things done. My plan was to call out a big name opponent with a win, but now I just want to get back out there and show what I can do.”
