Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman Fight Results and Update

Watch the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman Fight live tonight.

Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman go head to head at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, July 20th (Sunday, July 21st, Manila time).

Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KO) is coming off a successful title defense against Adrien Broner back in January. He will be targeting another world title against Thurman.

Thurman, 30, is undefeated in 30 professional bouts, with 29 wins, 22 via KO and one No Contest. He is coming off a win over Joselito Lopez back in January after a near two-year layoff.

Pacquiao (61-7-2) and Thurman (29-0-1) will square off for the WBA Welterweight Championship at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on the Strip, the same venue in which Pacquiao defeated Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley.

Thurman (29-0, 22 KOs) is a decade younger, certainly more powerful and maybe even a bit faster than his famously speedy opponent. Thurman is a tough, voluble welterweight champion in his prime competitive years, and Pacquiao represents the biggest fight of his career - a once-in-a-lifetime chance to pound a boxing great into retirement.

Pacquiao and Thurman both hold versions of the WBA 147-pound title heading into this Fox Sports pay-per-view showdown. In Roach’s educated mind, the vaunted Thurman has far more questions to answer than Pacquiao, who is coming into this fight off back-to-back victories over Lucas Matthysse and Adrien Broner.

The 40-year-old Pacquiao and the 30-year-old Thurman both come in with question marks, and it’s one of the more intriguing big time fights in recent memory on paper. The PPV show will also feature Yordenis Ugas vs Omar Figueroa Jr, Sergey Lipinets vs Jayar Inson, and Luis Nery vs Juan Carlos Payano, while the FOX prelims will see Caleb Plant vs Mike Lee and Efe Ajagba vs Ali Eren Demirezen.

Main Card (PPV, 9:00 pm ET)
Manny Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KO) vs Keith Thurman (29-0, 22 KO), welterweights, 12 rounds
Yordenis Ugas (23-4, 11 KO) vs Omar Figueroa Jr (28-0-1, 19 KO), welterweights, 12 rounds
Sergey Lipinets (15-1, 11 KO) vs Jayar Inson (18-2, 12 KO), welterweights, 10 rounds
Luis Nery (29-0, 23 KO) vs Juan Carlos Payano (21-2, 9 KO), bantamweights, 12 rounds

Prelims (FOX, 7:00 pm ET)
Caleb Plant (18-0, 10 KO) vs Mike Lee (21-0, 11 KO), super middleweights, 12 rounds
Efe Ajagba (10-0, 9 KO) vs Ali Eren Demirezen (11-0, 10 KO), heavyweights, 10 rounds

Thurman (29-0, one no-contest, 22 KOs) made a triumphant return to the ring after a 22-month layoff due to injuries, one week after Pacquiao beat Broner, and defeated a game Josesito Lopez by unanimous decision.

"Pacquiao wants a challenge, and I'm very grateful to be sharing a ring with a legend," Thurman also said at the presser. "If you understand boxing history, you know that times change. I believe boxing is in a new era. Come July 20, Pacquiao will disappear. He'll always be remembered in the sport, but I'm doing to Manny Pacquiao, what he did to Oscar De La Hoya."

Boxing’s only eight-division world champion, Philippine Senator and regular WBA welterweight champion Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao returns to face undefeated Super WBA Welterweight Champion Keith “One Time” Thurman in a powerhouse 147-pound showdown live on Premier Boxing Champions on FOX Sports Pay-Per-View event on Saturday, July 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Possessing speed, power and tremendous boxing skills, Thurman represents the most dangerous challenger that the future Hall of Famer Pacquiao has faced in his recent ring appearances. This high-stakes match will firmly give the winner a claim for the top spot in one of boxing’s deepest and most talented divisions.

Thurman is bigger and younger by a decade. He's highly skilled and very powerful. He's in his prime, and this is the chance he's been waiting for his entire career. So, of course, I'm picking Pacquiao. Maybe I'm placing too much stock in the stories I'm hearing out of the Wild Card Boxing Club. Or maybe I've become an old fart. Thurman likes to reset, and I don't think Pacquiao will let him. At some point, Pacquiao will hurt him. Not bad enough to take him out, but worse than Luis Collazo or Josesito Lopez. That's when it will get interesting. Pacquiao seems more than willing to return to places Thurman has not been. Good fight, disputed decision. Pacquiao.

This is one of the toughest major fights to call in recent memory, and as a betting man, my inclination would be to put money on whoever is the underdog (which keeps changing) or even on a draw (a realistic possibility here). But I lean toward Thurman having the tools to make Pacquiao look more like a 40-year-old than Broner or Lucas Matthysse could and eking out a close decision.

Legends always have one last big fight, and I think because of the time, hard work and commitment Pacquiao has put into this fight, he will be able to defeat Thurman by decision. Thurman has been inactive in recent years due to injuries and it will be hard for him to get into the fight rhythm you'd need to face a ring monster like Manny. Thurman's intelligence will allow him to compete through the fight, but in the end, Pacquiao will end up with his hand risen.

Who do you think will win the fight? Are you in favor with Thurman to win or for the living legend. Win or Loss - it's gonna a tugh and entertaining fight for the two boxers, right?
